Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are thrilled to kick off another amazing school year at Island Heights Grade School! I am very excited to start my first year as the principal of this wonderful school! I have been a part of Island Heights Grade School since September 2007. Over the years I have had a variety of roles, which include: 1st Grade teacher, 3rd Grade teacher, 6th Grade teacher, Basic Skills teacher, and the Instructional Curriculum Coach. I am so happy to work with Mr. Rehm, our board of education, staff, students, and families through this new role!
Each day at Island Heights Grade School, our staff works hard to provide our Sea Devils opportunities to grow and succeed at their highest potential. In 2020 we were named by the U.S. Department of Education as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon Exemplary High Performing School .
Our school prides itself on building a positive climate through our character education program, Project TEAM. Each day students will have opportunities to learn and exhibit the six foundations of Project TEAM: Helping Others, Positive Change , Anti-Bullying , Problem Solving , Resiliency, and Leadership . Over time these skills will become naturally embedded within the culture of our school, and throughout our students’ lives.
Your child’s educational experience is a collaboration between parents, staff, and students. We look forward to partnering with you throughout your child’s educational journey. When we all work together and communicate with one another the possibilities are endless!
